Practical Skills for Business

This programme is aimed at individuals wishing to enter self-employment or start their own enterprise. WEETU will be delivering the course to women-only groups living in Norfolk or North Suffolk, as a Delivery Partner Approved Centre for tchc (Training Consultancy Home Counties). The programme is free to women who meet the funding criteria relevant at the time of enrolment.

The programme is accredited with ncfe at NVQ Level 2, with the option to also achieve the level 3 CMI Introductory Certificate in Business Start-up qualification.

The programme starts with looking at your reasons and suitability for becoming self-employed, progressing through market research and marketing skills, customer care, legal issues, costing and pricing, cashflow and on to book-keeping.

There are exercises to be completed and assessed for each area of the course, the outputs from which can be collated to create a Business Plan. This can then be expanded to meet the requirements of the Level 3 certificate.
